Weird happening at work today

Ok, so after the 9:30am break, I return to the building on campus I was cleaning. My supervisor was in another building. I walk into the building and there below a stairwell is a $10 bill! I thought "what the heck? That was definitely not there before..." I never thought once about keeping it really. I knocked on a guy's door and gave it to him. He said it wasn't his but he'd keep it until someone claimed it. Well I go and sit on a chair to put a cd in my portable player and a lady comes out of the bathroom and goes up the stairs. A minute later she comes down the stairs and is looking around. I say "Did you lose some money because I just found a $10 bill lying there and gave it to a guy in that office. I must have made her day, lol, she was all happy and pleased with my honesty and I could here her telling the guy how impressed she was and she thanked me again. It is amazing how something so small like that can give you such a great feeling. I was glad she came looking because I was hoping whoever had lost it would find it. She even offerec me half and I said "No, that's ok!" I should have told her that is why I go to this college, because it is a Christian college. LOL Anyway thought I'd share my little Christmas break job tid-bit grin.gif

Feels good when you do the right thing, doesn't it?! My mother brought us up the same way and I wouldn't feel right if I had kept the money either...I have seen my mom go back in the store when she got .10 too much back in change! LOL Sometimes I think she is a little too honest, but it was a great example for us kids and one that I will never forget!

Honesty is very rare these days. I lost my wallet in a Home Depot parking lot a few years back. I received it in the mail about a week later, with all the money inside! I was so happy. It's always nice to see that their are good people in the world.
