Turkeygirl
Ok, so after the 9:30am break, I return to the building on campus I was cleaning. My supervisor was in another building. I walk into the building and there below a stairwell is a $10 bill! I thought "what the heck? That was definitely not there before..." I never thought once about keeping it really. I knocked on a guy's door and gave it to him. He said it wasn't his but he'd keep it until someone claimed it. Well I go and sit on a chair to put a cd in my portable player and a lady comes out of the bathroom and goes up the stairs. A minute later she comes down the stairs and is looking around. I say "Did you lose some money because I just found a $10 bill lying there and gave it to a guy in that office. I must have made her day, lol, she was all happy and pleased with my honesty and I could here her telling the guy how impressed she was and she thanked me again. It is amazing how something so small like that can give you such a great feeling. I was glad she came looking because I was hoping whoever had lost it would find it. She even offerec me half and I said "No, that's ok!" I should have told her that is why I go to this college, because it is a Christian college. LOL Anyway thought I'd share my little Christmas break job tid-bit

HuntingInMaine
Re: Weird happening at work today Feels good when you do the right thing, doesn't it?! My mother brought us up the same way and I wouldn't feel right if I had kept the money either...I have seen my mom go back in the store when she got .10 too much back in change! LOL Sometimes I think she is a little too honest, but it was a great example for us kids and one that I will never forget!

billygoat
Re: Weird happening at work today Way to go Ruth, always brightens your day when you know you've done good for someone else... BTW, where do you go to college? I'm in need of a little extra cash and thought I might take a drive to come look for anything that might be laying around. muggs
Re: Weird happening at work today Honesty is very rare these days. I lost my wallet in a Home Depot parking lot a few years back. I received it in the mail about a week later, with all the money inside! I was so happy. It's always nice to see that their are good people in the world.
