Finally - a left handed shed!

After 5 right sides in a row, I couldn't help but think I'd find a matching left sooner or later. A pleasant hike today produced a long awaited lefty as well as another right side. BUT - still no matches.

So I've got single antlers off 7 different bucks from a relatively small wintering area now, all 4 point or bigger. As you can see by the pictures, there's lots of dead plant material to disguise them. However, they sure are bleaching quickly now that snow melt has left them exposed.

The first find, a left sided 4 point.

Second shed, a right sided 5-point.

I also came across this. As I approached the fence, 8-foot high along a highway to keep game off of it, I spotted the bleached bones. The structure has saved literally hundreds of deer from being road kills but occasionally coyotes will run deer into it from the hillside. This little buck did not appear to be hung up in the fence at all and I suspect it may have been a coyote victim.

Closer to home, my neighbor found the right side off this buck a couple days ago. I picked up his left shed in mid December.
