WaCoyote
Tried a new choke for the BPS. It's an Indian Creek .650. This thing is incredible. Almost a wash between it and the Comp-n-Choke but with this load the pattern seems more uniform. You like??? 2006- 38 yds comp-n-choke 3 1/2" Federal FC #6 2 1/4 oz. 2007- 40 yrds Indian Creek same load as above. Which would you choose? The big # means total hits. The smaller # is vitals only. LifeNRA
Re: Check out this pattern!!! Definitly the CNC! I got 49 head and neck killing shots when I patterned my 835 at 40 yards. 33 hits over 17 hits, CNC! More pellet count is just more insurance! WaCoyote
Re: Check out this pattern!!! Hmmmm. The Indian creek had more hits. 246. The Comp had 231. Plus the Comp has voids in the pattern. I'm picking the Indian Creek. Sounds like you got yours dialed in though. Those 835's are awesome with the right combo. Are you counting anything in the head and neck or just the brain and vertibrae. Thats all I count.
LifeNRA
Re: Check out this pattern!!! Head and neck. Here is my target. I scanned these and added the three inch circle in the head. I was not counting the hits in the waddles.

Slugger
Re: Check out this pattern!!! the are so close its hard to say which is better because on was at 38 and one at 40 also they were shot 1 year apart so the conditions were different. believe it or not but 30% humidity vs 80% humidity will make that much difference it your pattern. dont write one or the other off until theyve been given a fair chance. also the barrel should be it the same condition for each shot
WABS
Re: Check out this pattern!!! I don't know if you did this more than once with each load but I'd hesitate to draw any conclusions on overall performance based on this limited sample. I'm with Slugger -- if you really want to try and determine if one really is significantly better than the other I'd test both under the exact same conditions, put the gun in a vice, and test each round 3-6 times taking an overall average of the number of hits and then compare. AJ
Re: Check out this pattern!!! Great advise guys. The only thing one shot will tell you for sure is how much recoil there is.
