It was supposed to be more about how Bond became a 00 and would later develop into the suave, super-agent we all know and loved. It had a more serious tone to it, too, IMO which I also liked. [/ QUOTE ] James Bond couldn't be "Bond-like" if he's never done anything before to compare himself to. You just have to try to forget about all the other movies for a couple hours. Well, I never have liked movies about poker. The reason? Well, in order for the non poker player to understand what is happening, you need some way to interject the role of the narrator on those poker shows. You need someone to tell the audience that bond needs an ace to win. It all seemed way too hokey. Then there are those lingering issues about the chair and whether bond was a eunich or not. Alot of hopping around! My wife even said...this is basically a movie about poker. And I have to agree. For those that don't play or know a lot about poker, they could be lost or bored very easily.
