Paris, TX ASA Pro/Am Update Thread

Not sure how many forum members we'll have at this one, but I know Gator and I will be there.

Thought I would start a thread so we can post updates and pics leading up to Sunday's finale.

Hopefully, we can both shoot to the best of our abilities. Anything above the 50% mark will be celebrated.grin.gif

Re: Paris, TX ASA Pro/Am Update Thread

Amen to that 50% mark. This will be my first big time tournament shoot, and I really don't know what to expect. Don't know how much shooting I will get in this week with the weather and all, but I do have a place I will shoot Wed evening that is inside. I hope to use this to get my final "shooter" arrows whittled out of my setup. Hopefully the rain won't put a damper on my shooting, but it will surely be used as an excuse!!!! grin.gifgrin.gif Won't be any pics taken, momma has the camera, and she is in the SE part of the US right now, making her rounds in Ga, and Alabama.

I'll have my "broken" digital camera with me.grin.gif

But we can't take cameras on the courses during the Pro/Am. We can take them during the team shoot and during practice rounds, but not the actual tournament.

Re: Paris, TX ASA Pro/Am Update Thread

Here is my setup for Paris

[image]http://DSCN0431.jpg[/image]

'05 Switchback, custom Strings, G5 Meta Peep Extreme RT900 in Hardwoods HD with Fitz Fibers, TT Shakey Hunter, GT 5575 XT's with 2 Black, 1 Lime Green feather with Flo Green Pin nocks, and CAP LORE Stabilizer in RT Hardwoods HD. Release is a TRU FIRE Judge. Just hope I can place in the top 50% grin.gifgrin.gif

Depending on what I do for shoots this year, as I seem to have been "bitten", there may be some upgrades for this bow next year, a different sight, and a different stabilizer, but only time will tell

Re: Paris, TX ASA Pro/Am Update Thread

Good idea. Here's my set-up as well:

BTW--Jason, if it comes in this week, I may have you a new stabilizer to try out this weekend.grin.gif

Also, for everyone keeping up with this thread: From what we're hearing on attendance projections, this event will be held in Paris for the next couple of years. If so, this could be the start of an annual Realtree Forum "get-together". If you're interested, pencil in next year to join us at Paris!

Kevin, with the weather they are calling for you might look at adding a grounding rod to your setup shocked.gifgrin.gif

Re: Paris, TX ASA Pro/Am Update Thread

Well, I have shot for the last time until Sat for the most part. Went to a buddies shop that we can shoot to 30yds inside, and dang near ALL my shots I could wrap my thumb and index finger around. If I ain't ready now, I ain't gonna be. This is my best shooting on my bag target that I have done in a couple of weeks. Just gotta remember to focus on the target, and not my sight. Think I will do allright in this thing, as long as I can get my nerves in check early. I wish I could take off Friday and go down for the team shoot, think I am gonna miss ouut on a REALLY good time.

I need to extend a BIG THANKS to MCH and family for opening up his house to me. If it weren't for them, none of this would EVEN be possible. Thanks Bud, I owe ya.

Thank me AFTER you stay the weekend. I'm still working on training Lainey and after she's through you might wish you would've stayed at a Holiday Inn Express.grin.gif

Re: Paris, TX ASA Pro/Am Update Thread

I hope y'all have a good time. That's what it's all about. I use to go to ASA's, but rarely found a travel partner and usually went by myself. That got old and now I go fishing on the lake. I ain't shot the bow more than once since Oct 06. Maybe someday I'll get back into it. Take alot of pics. You'll appreciate the effort in a few years.
