Sights???

What sights do you guys have on your hunting bows? I want to sell my Truglo Bright Site and upgrade to a 4 or 5 pin sight. The Extreme 900 RT sight seems like a nice sight. Does anyone have one on their bow? I was reading reviews about it on Cabela's and someone mentioned the light being in the way if you have a one piece quiver? I have an Alpine Soft Lok 5 arrow quiver. I hear it's a really bright sight though, light or no light. Anyway would like to hear any thoughts on that sight or recommendations. I'm also looking at 4 or 5 pin TruGlo Extreme series...or Fuse. Hoping to find something used in good shape because sights...they just aren't cheap shocked.gifcrazy.gif

Re: Sights???

Widowmaker has an Extreme RT900 for sale in the classified, at a DARN good price to!!!!!

I shoot a RT900, and am MORE than happy with it. As for the light being in the way, I couldn't tell you, I don't have one, nor will I, I put the FITZ Fibers in it, and am more than happy with the brightness

BUT if I stick to this 3D, Think I am going the Spott Hogg route

Re: Sights???

I shoot a Truglo Tru-Site Xtreme 5-Pin sight with sight light. Works like a charm and very nice sight for under $50! Pins are extremely bright without the light on and with the light on they really are bright in low-light conditions. I like how the sight light doesn't shine on the pins, but the fibers instead. I also liked how the fibers wrap around the outside with a clear protection cover overtop them to gather more light to the fibers, it has a glow ring for faster peep lineup, two side-by-side rows for pins with the ability for zero gapping, and has a nice level on it. Gets the job done for me and I'm satisfied and could put more money towards other bow parts, too.

Hey Ruth,

Why the need for 5 pins?

I use a Copper John Dead Nutz hunter - 3 pins, but only have 2 on.

Well I want to start 3D if I get the chance and 3 pins wouldn't be enough if i have to shoot past 30 yards, lol.

If your bow is shooting at all fast and flat, you should not really need more than 3 pins out to 40 Ruth. Really just depends on how you want to set it up. Personally I prefer less pins.

Those extreme sights are nice, but I'am a spot-hogg kinda guy.

Gotta agree with this. I think if you take a close look at Spott Hogg you'll see that they are a solid, quality item. They are more expensive but you definitely get what you pay for. These sights are bomb proof and are infinitely adjustable. You can surf the web and find the cheapest prices. Mountain Archery would be a good place to start and the site is www.maketheshot.com They have the cheapest prices I've seen. I have a Hunter Hoggit on a Mathews Switchback XT and a Real Deal on a Q2. In my humble opinion, there is no better multiple pin sight to be had.
