Re: My bows

Very Nice collection .

Well done for hunting with a recurve. Its got to take more skill than with a compound .

Dimebag Darrel forever watches over the last lot . lol

What draw weights are they ?

Re: My bows

Very nice Jim! Now that the weather has broke I have been shooting my recurve and longbow alot. Yesterday was a pretty good day of shooting, have noticed my groups shrinking even since last fall when I was shooting alot. DEFINATELY shooting better with the recurve. At 20 yards all good lung shots with the recurve(Bear Grizzly). With the Hill longbow, I can somewhat keep them in the lung area but still have some flyers...but it's still me yet. I still have more tweeking to do with my brace height and might move my nock point up slightly yet. I might have to pick your brain here before too long if you don't mind since you seem to know a good deal about trad gear. I have already decided that the first three weeks of early archery are going to be devoted to harvesting my first deer with trad gear. I would like to use the longbow, but it all depends on my confidence level when season comes around. What broadheads do you favor? Do you mostly shoot cedar shafts? I'm so PUMPED to get my first trad harvest!! grin.gif

Re: My bows

Thanks magnatec, they are fun, aren't they! I like Magnus Stingers. They're sharp, accurate, and tune real easy.I mostly shoot carbons and aluminums.Cedars(and other woods) are cool and if you find the right shaft, they'll fly as good as any carbon. But they're expensive and too inconsistant for me to really want to bother with.I still make up some woods every now and then, though.

keep practicing, keep your shots close and when you get that 1st animal on the ground,I guarantee it'll be a feeling like you've never had before. grin.gif

Re: My bows

Yep-Pa. boar. The recurve was a 60" Great Plains Wolf Creek,53#.Arrow was a 525 gr cedar w/ Zwickey Eskimo 125gr 2-bl. broadhead.Shot him quartering away and buried the shaft up to the fletching. He was hunkered down in a depression. Broadhead went thru a 1.5" shield and dug in the ground where he was laying. He snapped the shaft when he got up.Piled up within 75yds
