Re: Good treestand

If you want very light and very portable and pretty comfortable I would get this Summit Openshot

If you're like me and want a little more comfort while sitting and safety while climbing I would go with this Summit Viper

Summit gets you a lot for your buck. There are lighter stands out there, but they'll cost a bit more than I'm willing to pay.

I don't know about the other manufacturers, but summit has great coustomer sevice and really stands behind their products.

Summit Broadhead Backpacker. It folds flat, has a open front, perfect for the bow. My Outback is so small, I shoot almost always sitting down. Very comfortable, sturdy and well made stand. Expect to spend somehwere in the $225-$275 range for most of the Summits.

Re: Good treestand

I own a loggy climber and while it is really nice and serves me well, if I were to buy another today for quietness and lightweight and compactibility it would be one of summit backpacker models that fold up flat. I think they have one for bowhunters and one for gun hunters. If you dont want a summit get a loggy bayou.
