ousoonerfan22
Re: Mowing clover I'm going to try the finish mower behind the tractor. How tall do you let the clover grow? It's growing good and is probably around 6" tall now. Something is growing in the plot that has a stalk about 12" and looks to have a yellow bloom or flower?Chicory or trefoil maybe?
wtnhunt
Re: Mowing clover Had always either used a hay mower, or a bush hog in the past. Mowed once this year already with the new kubota bx with the belly mower, and it cut very nicely and did not take as long as I expected it to. [ QUOTE ] and looks to have a yellow bloom or flower? [/ QUOTE ] Yellow bloom could be trefoil.
Born2Hunt
Re: Mowing clover We let our clover get 10 to 12 inches high then we mow it. If we see weeds it will be cut sooner than that.
Thayer
Re: Mowing clover Watch your weather...don't mow if it is going to be hot and nasty...mow it down to about 6-8"'s and let them animals tear into the new growth. Good luck.
Strut10
Re: Mowing clover Bush hog.......yep. Usually down to around 6"-8". Sometimes lower if I'm knocking back a crop of weeds.
