IowaDeerHunter
Hey guys, just seen on the news that a hog manure pipe burst underground on our land. They have around 20,000 head of hog in 25+ confinements there. They said the creek there got polluted and killed all the fish and they already found some foam on the creek over three miles away. Will any of this effect the wildlife? Poisoning or anything?
QDMAworks4me
Re: Hog manure pipe burst. We have had manure pits burst on dairy farms here, killed millions of fish and polluted the river and was a real mess for along time after the fact. The farm was fined so much money for each fish killed which was in the millions of dollars, but the wildlife people never stated that there was any harm done to the other wildlife, so I am assuming that everything around it would be ok, I can't imagine having to plug your nose to get a drink of water though, peeeuuu!! wtnhunt
Re: Hog manure pipe burst. Sounds like a terrible and stinky mess. Would think it would not hurt wildlife in the area, hope it doesnt anyways.
deerkillr777
Re: Hog manure pipe burst. it shouldnt had that happen aroudn here befor jsut the farmer got lots of fines and it helped his land grow better crops that about all no harm to any other wildlife then the fish
