Re: blurry?????question

You'll find most will say focus on the target. But I focus on the pin. It's easier for me to focus on something moving instead of something stationary. But that's me. What works for me may not work for you. That's archery. And no one can say there is only ONE way to shoot an arrow accurately. It's a mental game that you have to be confident in. Confidence is key. And I use two eyes (less facial strain)

Target, always target. Just make sure the pin is lining up with what you're shooting, and then focus on the target, to see where it hits, and if there is blood, and where it runs after you shoot at it.

Take care,

Nathan

thats exactly right DG.. grin.gif

some focus only on the target, some on the pin. it just depends on what works for you.

but it must be one or the other going back and forth will not allow you to commit to making the shot.

i focus on the target. its what works for me.. i shoot wink.gifone eyed right now. but im working on using both.

Shoot Strong

Re: blurry?????question

I focus on the pin.

I find that I hold steadier this way. I read once that if you are focusing on the target, your mind is trying to move the obstruction (sight) out of the way...not a good thing crazy.gif...and you cannot hold as steady. Seems to work for me.

Same thing with a rifle and open sights...focus on the sights.

I never put the pin right on the desired point-of-impact, either. Always just a little bit below so that the POI is right on top of the pin.

Re: blurry?????question

I start with the pin to ensure that I am on the right one and then shift to the target. Concentrate on the spot that I want to hit and try to have a surprise release. There is no way to hold the pins completely steady, they will float. The key is the surprise release and the follow through until the arrow hits. I also shoot with both eyes open, it takes practice but I think it is more beneficial. Especially when hunting, you may see the animal move and not risk making a bad shot.
