natethebowhunter
will buzz baits work for bass at any time of the year or only during late summer and fall????
Mountaineer
Re: bass, buzz baits????? They're not working around here yet, the bass are still somewhat in their "winter" mode and have a super slow bite. Hopefully this warm weather will get them movin and spawning sometime soon! But as for your question, give it a try! Don't know unless you try it!
DU_man_84
Re: bass, buzz baits????? i find them to work best in late spring, on cool summer mornings and nights and fall, i cant say for sure, but i dont know if you really will get a bass to rise during the transition, from winter to spring, like mountaineer said when they are in their winter patterns, you prolly wont get them to rise, but like moutaineer aslo said give it a try, cant hurt to try
Leo
Re: bass, buzz baits????? Bass will hit buzz baits any time they are in the weeds. Multiple casts to a single area will often trigger an anger strike I've made as many as 98 casts to the same spot before a bass tried to "kill it" to make it shut up. Doesn't work on bedding fish but if you know the bass is in there. It's a good trick.
LifeNRA
Re: bass, buzz baits????? They, as in the bass experts say anytime the water temps are above 50 degrees fish will hit topwater. Once I know water temps are above 60 degrees, I start looking at topwater lures. But you can bet 70 degrees, all night long and at first light, there is one rod that has a buzzbait tied on! I caught bass on buzzbaits in early afternoon, it was cloudy all day! But I dont like them on sunny days.
VABuckSlayer
Re: bass, buzz baits????? I agree... anytime the water temp is 58+ a buzzbait is a good choice! At least here in VA it works! E
