magnatecsteve
Who all uses them? I know they aren't the safest thing to use in the turkey woods, but I'm the only one supposed to be hunting the woods I do. I can recall one hunt that I feel the gobble call definately made a difference though. Had two toms all by themselves in a cattle field just off of the property line. I was set up in a small thicket/woods. They would gobble to everything I threw at them but would not come across the barbed wire fence. After about an hour of this...I hit the gobble call. Sure enough, they came right in. Just wondering if ya'll use them. I would NEVER use one on public land of course.
Rhino
Re: Gobble call Yep....if you read my post about my 1st turkey killed this year you'll see I called him in using a gobble call. I always carry one with me and it has made the difference a number of times. I would never use it on public land either though.

Strut10
Re: Gobble call Never had much use for them. It's a good way to attract hunter attention and maybe get yourself stalked in these parts. I carry very littl. If I feel the need to toss a gobble into my calling sequence (which is less than "once in a blue moon") I'll do it on a diaphragm.
toddyboman
Re: Gobble call I carry one with me. However I cant say that I have every really used it or need to use it. Besides I don't really like the way it sounds. I thnk I need a new one.
Exturkinator
Re: Gobble call Only time I have ever used a gobble call is late evening locating for shock gobbles - fairly unsuccessfully I might add.
FullStrutter
Re: Gobble call It is the most effective tool in my turkey hunting arsenal hands down. At 24 years old, I have killed a few dozen longbeards and I can think of at least 10 where the ole quaker boy gobble shaker broke them from hanging up. ParrotHead2005
Re: Gobble call I have one I use. Again I am the only one hunting this property and I have killed several with it coming in to check things out.
