texastrophies
My son and I went to tht Rocket's game last night against the Mil. Bucks. I have had the opinion from watching on tv that all this guy is, is tall. After watching him in person last night, I am sure of it. He is not a basketball player. His shot is not that good, he doesn't rebound, he slap at the ball instead of grabbing it, looks like he is playing volleyball. His positioning for rebounds is not good either. Makes you wonder how he gets voted to the all-star game? I forgot to take my camera, so I didn't get any pics, but we had a blast at the game, even though it was a blow out. We are now in San Antonio, getting ready to hit the River walk and then the Alamo in the morning.
unioncountyslayer
Re: Yao Ming I'm not a Yao fan either, but you can't argue with the guys numbers... 24 ppg, 2 blkpg, 9 rbpg, and he shoots over 50 percent from the field and 85 percent from the stripe (almost unheard of for a guy his height). That's why he's an All-Star. Maybe you were watching someone else?
deer huntin k-man
Re: Yao Ming How hard can it be to make a shot when you shoot the ball down at the hoop unlike the rest of us that have to shoot up to it. When your that tall it makes the game alot more simple.

[/ QUOTE ] For the last four minutes of the game that was out of reach, every trip down the floor the rockets fed the ball in to Yao so he could try to score. If that is the way he keeps his ppg average up, who is fooling who. The "stars" should not of even been in the game, Tracy McGrady was on the bench already. muggs
Re: Yao Ming He's a really soild player. His build is really impressive too. Most guys who are that tall are lanky, but Yao is muscular and athletic. Plus, I'm not sure how old he is, but I think he's still pretty young. He's still developing IMO and that's kinda scary.
