Where do US Oil Imports Come From?

This ought to be an eye opener for a lot of people. The Nov. 2005 data is the most recent I can find right now.

BTW, Canadian oil imports have been steadily going up each year. Since at least 2001 Canada has been our leading source for imported oil. Many assume most of our imported oil comes from the middle east but as you can see from the map, less than 20% comes from there.

LOL Buckee!

That's pretty interesting Rhino,I had no idea that we get so little oil from the middle east.It makes no sense why some termoil or even rumors about termoil make fuel prices rise so much.In my mind we just stop buying oil from the middle east and get it somewhere else that appreciates the business.

Well shoot, you can't burn crude. It's gotta be refined first and guess where the refineries are?

ya, I know that wink.gif just can't understand why we don't have more refineries here ?

I guess it is more profitable for the big guys to export it then buy it back and charge us an arm and a leg crazy.gif

That's the biggest complaint of all Canadians. We have sold ourselves short, when it comes to our natural resources. frown.gif
