Strut10
Re: 17 REMINGTON FIREBALL Haven't seen or tried one. But it's "been out" for about 40 years. It's the old wildcat .17 Mach IV and it's nothing new....except now it's a factory offering. Being based off the .221 Fireball, it oughta be a real shooter. AJ
Re: 17 REMINGTON FIREBALL Yep, like Strut mentioned its been around a long time. Its definately one of the best .17 calber cartridges. It comes very close to the .17 Remington in performance with bullets up to 25 grains. Stepping up to the 30 grains, the .17 Rem pulls ahead though. Fill that thing with some VV N133 and push a Berger bullet and you have a varmint smoking machine!
LETMGROW
Re: 17 REMINGTON FIREBALL Petersen's Hunting magazine May/ June '07 has a very good article on the .17 Fireball. They refer to it as the .17 Remington Fireball.
woodsman2230
Re: 17 REMINGTON FIREBALL Its out. We actually have a remington 700 chambered in that in the store. It almost looked like a necked down .222 or something. I dont know much about it tho.
