wtnhunt
Looking at either getting one of these in a 3-9X40 or stepping up to a zeiss conquest in a 3-9X40. How much really better is the zeiss scope? The monarch at cabelas now is $269 on sale, the zeiss is $399. Currently the best scope I have used on any of our rifles has been a nikon buckmaster, followed by a burris fullfield II. How will the two compare, and is the zeiss really that much better that it is worth the extra $130? Will be replacing the burris scope on my .270 with whichever new scope I end up with, which is used primarily for deer hunting where shots are usually under 200 yards. Really think I am going to go with the monarch, but not sure.
yooperkenny
Re: nikon monarch? That's a great price for a Monarch. 95% light transmission, I believe. IMHO I don't think spending over $100 more for the Zeiss is going to make a significant difference - you'll love the Nikon!
wtnhunt
Re: nikon monarch? The cabelas catalog descriptions does say 95% light transmission on the monarch scope. Got a $20 off coupon I have to use today if I am going to use it, and some points as well.
too_pointer
Re: nikon monarch? Although I have never owned a Zeiss, and probably never will, I have used Nikons for years, and I bet you will be very pleased with the Monarch If not, I'll give ya $100 for it LOL too_
AJ
Re: nikon monarch? I have been buying the Nikon Monarch to replace many of my cheap scopes. Since they are being replaced by a 4x magnification range, you can get some great bargains on them. I have a few Zeiss scopes and they are great scopes. Like Too_Pointer mentioned, I don't think you will be dissapointed by either.

tped
Re: nikon monarch? I love the Nikon Monarchs and right now they are a tremendous value. I have seen them cheaper than what Cabelas is currently offering though.
wtnhunt
Re: nikon monarch? Free shipping from cabelas, and had some points and a $20 off coupon. Figure for $249 for the scope shipped before the points I used, I could not go wrong.
