CampRAGS Posted March 31, 2007 Report Share Posted March 31, 2007 What States still have a law on the books that does not allow hunting on Sunday. New York had boundry that spilt the state east and west. Anything west of the boundry Sunday hunting was prohibited. Now with a Saturday opening day the boundry has been removed. They are Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia. A few others have restricted hunting on Sundays like private land only, certain installations, etc. Those are Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, and West Virginia I believe. In that case (like opening day of bowseason - Oct. 1st, or turkey season - March 15th) if the opening date falls on a Sunday, the season opens a day early on Saturday. In the states that don't allow it, you can get drunk on Sunday, fish, committ adultery, shop, work, and the list goes on. I could never understand the ban.
