Re: College Player of the year....

Speaking of Oden, i still have yet to see what the big deal is about this kid. I know we had a thread on him a while back, where i said i have always felt that his lifelong teammate Mike Conley was a better player. I think this tournament run is proving that point. Over the past 3 games he has been averaging around 20 minutes a game, and Conley and the boys are bailing him out. He is a good player and a nice kid, but he arguably isnt even the best player on his own team, let alone in the entire nation. I thought OSU played there best ball today when he went to the bench in the first half.

Agree. Oden is not the best player on the team. Conley is, and they arent anywhere near the championship game without him.

Re: College Player of the year....

I agree, Conley Jr. is the best player on my Buckeyes. Actually, I may go as far as to say he's the best pure point guard in the nation too. He controls the game and doesn't turn the ball over.

But Oden is the best NBA prospect in NCAA. If Durant would eat something, I might say him. What you're failing to realize is a 7-footer with Oden's type of ability is rare...hence the hype.

That being said, Oden is still raw, but his potential is there.

btw- this one for the stats guys here, if you compare Oden's numbers to Hakeem, Ewing, Duncan's number in their respective freshman years...Oden's are much better. wink.gif
