texastrophies
Thursday afternoon we started our hunt outside of Mason, Texas. We were in the ranch truck (1 ton dually) trying to locate the game to put a stalk on them, when he ended up getting stuck. We then proceeded on foot for about 2 hours before we circled back around to where I had left my truck. So we hopped in mine, to go get his unstuck, and when we were about 100 yards from his the road (read path) I was on just gave away and I was stuck. The guide called a friend who came out in a 4 wheel drive toyota, and they were able to get the dually out, then they both hooked up to me and tried but couldn't move me. They then went to town and got another 4 wheel drive toyota, they couldn't move me forwards, but when we tried going backwards, it popped on out. The damage from this is as follows, brush guard on new toyota, receiver hitch on new toyota, front tranny seal on dually, bumper cover on my truck (which I was able to re-attached after washing) On to the hunt, about 30 minutes after the above fiasco, we located a 4 horned ram that my son liked and were able to get close enough to it for him to make the shot. I have a few pics below. Hopefully I will be able to put a video of the shot up. Not sure if it will work or not.
