Rhino
Re: they aint gobblin Welcome to the forum. Could be a number of reasons from weather related to hens. My guess would be most of the gobblers have hens with with them or near them already. When they do they are more apt to strut and drum for those hens rather than gobble. Nut
Re: they aint gobblin It is frustrating when the turkeys go silent. Sometimes it is the weather but most times it is because they are henned up in that area. I have went from one area that had solitude to one that the birds were gobbling away. Still do not know why either. I would try to find where they are roosting that night and get there early. Maybe you could get between a tom and some hens. BowtechTurkeyHunter
Re: they aint gobblin [ QUOTE ] kool so i i was huntin yesterday and i found a lonesome henall by herslef and if the gobblers are henned up then would he be following that hen? [/ QUOTE ] Nope not at all ... if a tom is henned up he could be with several hens and he wont leave them for anything ... in nature it normal for the hen to go to the tom not the other way around ... that hen will walk all day looking and listening for a tom to join up with ... in turkey hunting we have to reverse nature and get that tom excited enough to come and investigate that hen ... at least get him to come half way ... SE_KSBowhunter
Re: they aint gobblin Not sure about your situation there, but sometimes the toms won't gobble much if there is an over-population of jakes around. I have read that the jakes will single out toms and gang up on them.
