I have a brand Leaf River with a veiwing screen....The first few sets of pictures were great...Now when I retreive my CF card, there is always 250-400 pictures listed on the counter... But when I put the card in my computer to download them, only so many download...never the amount thats on the counter...everytime I download them, I delete them so the card is empty...I e-mailed the company and got no reply...Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks....Steve....

Re: Leaf River cams?

Could your computer be bogging down? Try D/L'ing them again, if the transfer screen goes away, fine. If it just sits there let it go for a while. Another thing would be to formatte the card, maybe they are not being deleted all together! Most camera's have some way to re-formatte the card, making sure its completely empty. Sorry, not much help, I dont own one!

Re: Leaf River cams?

If there are 400 pics, and your computer is not fast enough or does not have enough memory, it probably will not load them all. You will have to view them one at a time and delete them, or just reformat the card after you have viewed the pics.

The pics will be numbered too, so you know how many pics you got as to how many trips on the counter. If they do not match and the card shows considerably more, you need to probably reformat the card. It may be recording pics to more than one file name.

Kind of unusual that leaf river has not gotten back to you, if you continue to have a problem, might give them a call.

Are you deleting the events after you change the card?

Like stated above try formatting the card. Also the event counter and number of pictures will never be the same. Most of the time the events will be a lot higher.

This is exactly what is going on........just remove your card and reset the counter, each time before you reinstall your new card.......that way the counter will accurately display the number of pics you have taken... wink.gif

Re: Leaf River cams?

The event counter triggers at about 1 minute intervals. So if you have your cam set to take 1 pic every 1 minute you should have about the same # of events & pics. Otherwise they will be different depending how you have your picture setting.

just got my card out and the counter was at 200, and only 95 pics....I changed the card on Sunday April 1...It only took pics for that day and not since...the time and date stamp, only reads April 1...I'm not happy at all with this cam...

What size card and what resolution setting are you using? If you are using the high res setting, you may be filling up the card. Only get about 90 pics on a 64mb card on the med settings with my leaf river.

If I am not mistaken, the counter will continue to count trips until the 5 minutes have passed. If you have the delay set at 5 minutes, it will still count events, but not trigger the camera with those settings until the 5 minutes has ended. Your window of triggers will not match your picture count if there have been animals moving around in the pir detection range to trigger an event within that 5 minutes. Very rarely do my counter counts and picture counts match on my leaf river, with the quick shot set to 2 and one minute intercals, they are usually fairly close though. These cams take pretty good pics and are extremely well built.

Think the instructions give pretty good information, but if you still think something is wrong with the cam, give leaf river a call, I am sure they will help you out.
