VermontHunter
Team Hendrick 1 & 2 ... I would have rather seen Gordon finish ahead of Johnson but OH WELL I'll take it... Chrud
Re: Martinsville Jeff Gordon...what a whiner. If he was in JJ's position he would have blocked and done his best to win. Come on guy, you finished 2nd. And wrecking people for a win, does Chicago in 2006 ring a bell? How about the races with Rusty? I don't want a discussion on racing deals or if they were intentional, because we know that won't go anywhere. Just pointing out how disappointing the 24's post-race interview was and how he has wrecked people for wins. Good job by my fantasy team...1, 2 and 3. Ravin R10 man
Re: Martinsville how about the late Dale Earnhardt.?? thats how he won many of his races..taking people out.. Jeff raced a rather clean race, and could have easily taken out JJ but didnt..thats sportsmanship if i ever saw it
LETMGROW
Re: Martinsville JJ did what he was hired to do and that is to win races. I was a little disapointed in Jeff's attitude after the race. I'm sure he will get over it. Sure made for a nail biter finish though!

AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Martinsville Gordon was very patient, hate seeing blocking but he could have gone to the high side and if they JJ blocked that side I think Jeff should have cranked him around. You have to give a guy some room to race, maybe Jeff should have buried it deeper into the corner and then JJ would of had to give him a lane to race in. Do not care for JJ at all, guess the only thing that made me happy was a Chevy won it and Mikey sat out another race. I can just see him tomorrow night on Speeds Nascar Review show, "do you see how those Chevy's are winning everything?" Shut up Mikey and get in the dang show!!! OJR
Re: Martinsville More BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!! Yep, more whinning from Gordon! He will never quit! At least the Chevy's are winning and nothing is close to them!
VermontHunter
Re: Martinsville I should have figured, this was just going to be another BASHING weekend ... I really think they should stop these post race interviews all together.... I think it's real unfair to the driver to interview him right after a hard fought race.... Yeah right he's going to be all huggs and kisses ... OH WELL ,,, on to the next race...

I've seen a couple replies pointing out disappointment in Gordon's interview. Seeing that Hendrick has dominated Martinsville, his car WON, he finished second...pretty disappointing all he did was complain. JJ did what he gets paid to do. Blocking is kind of lame, but you don't just roll over when you have a car capable of winning, even if it is to a 4x champion.

Why would he wreck his car & the car he owns, plus lose points??? He was Smart & gave it all he could safely. Stephen Oh Boy We Get A Week Off for Easter!!! Listen you may not have liked what Gordon had to say,,, but so what, He just finished a race. You didn't hear anyone walk all over Dale Jr's stumpling pre-race interview looking for the right words to say in order to be PC ... Like I said on to the next race.... dg
Re: Martinsville Gordon needs to quit whining and lose a little more gracefully. He didn't really lose, he just let JJ win. Gordon lays the bumper on Hamlin and pushes him out for 2nd and quickly charges right up the field to JJ and then runs 30-40 laps on JJ's rear? He should have layed the bumper to JJ just like he did to everyone else. Congrats Jeffy, that's the downside of team racing. I guess he had to add a little emotion to make things seem real... I didn't "bash" anything he did in the race. Once again, this has to be at least the third time in this thread, his post-race interview was awefully disappointing. You know if the roles were reversed, Gordon would have said something along the lines of "I held him off as long as I could". JJ should not roll over just because Jeffy is a 4x champ and his car owner.

[/ QUOTE ] Nobody said that he should???? After watching his post race interview on NASCAR.COM, What's the big Deal?? [/ QUOTE ] I hope you watched the right one. There have been a couple more where he isn't so "upset". Just look at him after he gets out of his car, he was PO'ed. What was boring about the race? Both COT races have been decided by less than a car length. I thought it was a pretty good race. But, being fixed and all, it should have been called at the rain delay. Randyman
Re: Martinsville With the blocking that JJ was doing, Jeff should have just moved him out of the way. Rubbin' is Racin'. I personally don't have a problem with a faster car "moving" a slower car out of the way. I never watch the post race interviews because no matter who it is, all i ever hear is Blah, Blah, Blah. Valkrie1357
Re: Martinsville But, being fixed and all, it should have been called at the rain delay. That way Jr Could have gotten his win for the year out of the way. ROFLMAO
VermontHunter
Re: Martinsville I just had to go back and hear the post race interview again... and man I just don't see what you guys are reading into it... Here's the quote from his interview in text version.... Jeff Gordon "It was a great race and I basically had to wreck him to win it and I'm not going to wreck my teammate for a win," Gordon said. "I tried to move him several times but he's tough here and he ran his line, did what he needed to do. "We had a much faster racecar but the best car doesn't always win. It was just a great, great effort to have that kind of a racecar and I really thought we should have won this one and I'm pretty disappointed that we didn't. "Like I said, he did what he needed to do and if roles were reversed obviously I'm going to do what I've got to do to protect that spot as well. He'll probably one day be sitting in here and not happy about it either but we race hard, we race clean, we've been racing one another for years." http://www.nascar.com/2007/news/headlines/cup/04/02/jgordon.martinsville/1.html Please will someone point out where Jeff was ticked off at his teammate and making a big fuss about the blocks.. Maybe I'm missing something ..
