Turkeygirl
When you purchase hunting clothing, do you buy men's or women's clothes? I personally just get my clothing in men's because it is cheaper than women's specific hunting clothes. I'm planning on getting a Cabela's Silent Weave insulated bowhunter jacket and according to their chart, I'd be a small, which is what I got when I got one of their rain jackets. I was wondering if any of you ladies had experience in knowing whether I'd have aneough room for a littlel ayering if need be underneath the jacket? If I got a size medium, it'd be about 2-3 inches larger on all the measurements which means I'd likely be swallowed by the jacket, lol
M00N
Re: Hunting clothes..? I buy mainly mens hunting clothing because like you said they are cheaper and easier to find. The only exception is my under layer clothing I do buy in women's sizes if they are available, especially if it's the under layers that are meant to be skin tight. I always go somewhere I can try on my clothes before I buy them when I buy men's clothing though. I rarely will just order them over the internet or from a catalog unless I've bought clothing from that same company before in the same style and know it will fit. I can never tell when they'll fit or not between different companies or even different styles in the same company. Everyone is slightly different in sizing from the next and when it comes down to mens clothing a slight different in size sometimes just make the clothing not fight right on a woman. HuntingInMaine
Re: Hunting clothes..? I buy my shirts and jackets in boys large and don't have any problems. For pants I have to have a woman's size...men sizes just don't fit right. I normally wear a size 4-6 woman's for shirts and jackets. I got my hunting parka from cabelas and it is an x large boys and there was plenty of room for layering underneath. I would imagine that you won't have any trouble putting on a layer or two under a men's small.
Turkeygirl
Re: Hunting clothes..? I ordered a pait of camo pants from Wing Supply last year in a men's size and no problem, and my rain coat from Cabela's.
wtnhunt
Re: Hunting clothes..? Ruth, I bought most all of my wifes hunting clothing from cabelas. Most of what I have found for her has been from womens lines, but a few things have been clothes they did not have in womens at the time like her parka which with the draw cords ended up working fine for her. NiteRunner
Re: Hunting clothes..? I'm a bargain shopper, so it's mostly mens or boys sizes. I don't think I even have any camo in Womens sizes?
Guest Oneida1
I find whatever fits. Lately that has been in the kids department. I found a really nice hunting coat (waterproof, windproof and insulated) that is the same as the hubby's but it was $30 cheaper. They make a XXL in kids now. It is too big for normal wear. But when I'm hunting with multi-layers, there is still room to move. Pants are still the biggest thing I have trouble finding. I wear a size 2 in ladies. But hunting clothes do not come that small. And I have a 32" inseam so boys pants do not do well either. I have to resort to bibs. Last time I was at Bass Pro shops they had a pair of camo pants that were a size 52 waist. If they can make that, why can't I find a pair of pants somewhere? I do not even care if the clothes fit really well. I just want them long enough and to NOT fall of my backside. Until that happens I will be doomed to wear bibs. Oneida1
