Chrud
Re: Poor OSU I couldn't believe that announcer said Oden should be Most Outstanding Player.
unioncountyslayer
Re: Poor OSU [ QUOTE ] Oh sure, easy to pop off on OSU and Oden now huh? Fact is, they got to the final, not NC, not Duke, not Wisconsin or 59 other teams that came to the dance. Then again, muggs probably deserves all this armchair quarterbacking. [/ QUOTE ] Hate to tell ya, but I've been "Popping Off" on Oden all year.
colts1888
Re: Poor OSU Oden did play a nice game FINALLY. But i couldnt believe how gassed he was with as many breaks as they had in that game. It wasnt like he wasnt well rested either. One good game though shouldnt get him off the hook. Bottom line is he was a dissapointment in the tournament run overall. His teammates won without him for the most part. Conley was more of an impact player then Oden was.
muggs
Re: Poor OSU How so many people can look at one thing and all be so wrong almost makes me lose all faith in the human race. I say "almost" because all I have to do is glance in the mirror and see the pure sports genius that is muggsy, and the faith is returned...10 fold. Oden had more impact on that game then any one player. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to get the Buckeye's past a team that plays great as a team. If the Bucks would have shot better, the game would have been vastly different. Now, let's focus on what you all are missing here. It takes a 7'0" more time to develop then say, a 6'4" guard. Coordination, endurance, footwork, you name it. Most guy's who stand 7'0" or more can't even walk and chew gum at the same time. Oden can run the floor well, dominates underneath, can go left or right etc...etc... I know some of you are black-and-white, cold hard stats crunchers, so to you I ask that you compare Oden's numbers to the freshman years of Ewing, Hakeem the Dream, Russel and you'll see where I'm coming from. Actual, the only big man who's numbers really dwarf Oden's are Lou Al Cinder's...and those were put up in an ear when freshman played on all freshman teams and couldn't play varsity until their sophomore years. So those were against other freshamn. Anyway, anytime the greatest big man ever is the only guy who has you beat...you could be in worse company. Not to mention, the kid was playing left-handed for half the year. And that's just one more reason, the general NBA scout concensus is that Oden is #1. OK, anything esle you guys need to know?
