c_lou
I have a 96 Explorer that has started leaking anti-freeze. The catch is it only leaks when I first start it up in the morning. I was talking to my Dad-in-law and he mentioned it is probably the water pump. Does this sound right? It looks to be leaking from right behind the radiator. I haven't taken it in yet. Just thought somebody here may have a clue. Thanks.
MUDRUNNER
Re: Question for any Mechanics COULD BE AN INTAKE GASKET.THAT SOUNDS LIKE WHAT HAPPENED TO MY WIFES CAR ABOUT THIS TIME LAST YEAR.IT DID LEAK WHEN THE CAR WAS WARM,BUT IT EVAPORATED FROM THE HEAT OFF THE ENGINE BEFORE IT MADE IT TO THE GROUND.IT MAY BE THE WATER PUMP THOUGH.HARD TO SAY WITHOUT LOOKING AT IT. wtnhunt
Re: Question for any Mechanics Really depends, but it could be the water pump. Think I would have to crawl up under it and look to see if I could pinpoint where it is leaking from.
