Those of you in or not in the Adirondacks...

You were right, lol, I'm addicted to them! I still can't believe I was in the Adirondacks High Peaks in October on that backpacking trip I went on. The scenery is so much different than down in western NY. I was looking through my photos last night because I sent 2 to my uncle in England and looking them at them is like wow. It sure is one of God's most awesome creations. I need to post some pics on here so everyone can enjoy. Of course I bet the view from atop Mt. Marcy wouldh ave been awesome had it not been so foggy and windy that you could only see about 30 yards in front of you! Yes, I think the Adirondacks have changed me, there sure is something special about them and I remember on the van ride to there, I got excited because I was an "Adirondack whitetail" standing by the side of the road! By the way, the brown guard rails are a nice rustic touch but why do they bother, lol? grin.gif

It is a whole different world. The camp we go to is 17 miles back in by 4-wheeler only. 2 1/2 hours to get there. I have never seen a deer there, but it is the most beautiful place in the world. No cars, no kids screaming, only God's creations up there. I will also have to post some pics at some point.

The Adirondacks are an awesome place to be. The small towns around the area like Tupper Lake and Lake Placid. Lake Placid in the fall is a very beautiful place to be. The hunting is great although the deer per square mile is lower than you'd think. It is so vast that you can literally be miles from another human. Deer are very wary there because most of them have never seen a human being. I love being in the Adirondacks.

I only get to the Adirondacks once or twice a year, and it makes them that much more spectacular. It's an amazing place.

You would be surprised how many people from other parts of the country think that New York State is completely paved. They don't realize some of the great wild spaces that we have.

when people think of new york they think of the city and crowds.... so until you can visit the adirondacks to hike, camp or hunt don't judge new york as a over crowded state..... i live in the adirondacks and love every moment of it....we are starting to see the moose making a come back....and who knows maybe in 20 years we might be hunting moose. i love living in the adirondacks it's a beautiful place to live...

The Adirondacks are beautiful. I've skied them and hiked them, but haven't had the opportunity to hunt them...yet.

The Adirondacks are a great place to be in the fall and winter. I remember the enjoyment of warm summer days and nights spent down the road in Alex Bay as well.

I almost miss New York. Almost.
