billkay
Anyone ever doa bear hunt where you drift a river and scan the shore line for bear? Considering doing one of these in northern Alberta this spring.
superguide
Re: Float Hunt for Bear? Never done it but it would be awesome-in the spring those bear graze just like cattle-take a good camera-a fishing rod-and prepare for a great time. Chrud
Re: Float Hunt for Bear? Sounds pretty interesting. Gun or bow? I assume you then land the boat and get out and stalk them, right? Or just shoot them from the boat? Either way, it sounds pretty fun!
superguide
Re: Float Hunt for Bear? I'm pretty sure you have to land and stalk-but that's most fun any ways .
billkay
Re: Float Hunt for Bear? From what I understand you do land the boat and stalk on foot. I was told the weapon is of your choice. You work out of a spike camp and travel up the river for a couple of hours before day light and then drift back down. superguide
Re: Float Hunt for Bear? Another thing works awesome if spotting and stalking is to call one in. I've called them just by squeeeking a blade of grass-they'll come fast though lol.
