Turkeygirl
So I ordered a Beard Buster Vest for $35 on sale from wing Supply...along with a new mouth call. Got an email that they no longer have the vest, will ship the call. Least they could do is replace it with something similar....grr...Oh well. I'm thinking I'll splurge and spend the extra $5 for Cabela's Beard Buster vest...has nicer padding anyway. But gee that annoys me. Ok, I'm done venting. If anyone else knows of any websites with cheap/on sale strap turkey vests, let me know.
Turkeygirl
Re: Darn it all! Ok, so Cabela's Beard Buster is about $20 more...There's also the H.S. SUV vest for $50 - anyone know if that has a padded back? One or two Cabela's vests for like $40....Any thoughts?

Rhino
Re: Darn it all! Haven't looked into a new turkey vest in a long time Ruth. I'm on about season #10 on my Gobbler Elite vest right now. Might have to replace it in a few years though. BTW, assuming you get one with a game bag in the back, putting something like an old hunting jacket or something else adds extra lower back padding that sure makes it a lot more comfortable for long sits. If you have to tote a turkey out you can still tie the sleeves around your waiste or wherever to make room for your bird in the bag.
HuntingInMaine
Re: Darn it all! Have you checked Ebay? I did a quick turkey vest search and they had tons of them for pretty good prices....
Turkeygirl
Re: Darn it all! yeah, just not alot of what i'm looking for - strap style..padded back...good seat. i'm thinking either the H.S. SUV vest or Beard Buster by Cabela's.

Guest Rhinodog
Re: Darn it all! Wing Supply has done that to me a couple of times. I'm still waiting on a $20 refund to my cc for some shirts I ordered but they didn't have.
Turkeygirl
Re: Darn it all! Yeah, I had a mouth call to but i'm not going to pay shipping just for that thing! I emailed them back to see if they'd just cancel it completely...
RangerClay
Re: Darn it all! The vest I got at Walmart last year has a padded back. Not sure what they have this year?
Turkeygirl
Re: Darn it all! I'm avoiding Wlmart. Bought a camo woolrich jacket from them..metal snap button broke on it. Emailed woolrich and they couldn't replace the jacket because it is basically made for Walmart, therefore cheaper materials. They did put a diff. button on it, but I'm avoding buying anything that costs big $$ from them
dlriggins
Re: Darn it all! Do you have a gander mountain store near you they usually have a vast selection of vests and they price match I recomend something with a hydro bladder it not only holds the beverage but provides some extra padding if it sets on the inside of the vest
