ParrotHead2005
Anyone ever use this stuff. It kill broadleaf weeds in clover and alfalfa. It is just like 24-DB. I need to know how much per gallon. It says 1-2 quarts per acre but I just need to spot spray with a hand sprayer.
dogdoc
Re: butyrac 200 yep--I've used that brand for the last 3 years. I use 2 ounces per gallon of water in a pump up sprayer when spot spraying.
Tominator
Re: butyrac 200 What does it do to grass? What is the original design of this herbicide?
ParrotHead2005
Re: butyrac 200 Dogdoc, Does it work well. I talked to the guy yesterday. He had a lot of good info. For grasses he said a lot of people use Poast Plus and Trigger. He sells more Trigger. I would love to get some Pursuit, for broadleaf killing but they only sell it in gallons for 519per. He has a nice web site it is keystone pest solutions and then click on food plot thing on the left side of the screen.
dogdoc
Re: butyrac 200 yes--it works great if you spray it early during the active growing season. I also use a lot of poast plus for grass invasion--(bermuda, fescue, and johnson). Chris--the 2,4DB will kill your annual broadleaf weeds but will not kill your perennial legumes such as clover, alfalfa, and trefoil. It has no herbicidal activity on grasses. Tominator
Re: butyrac 200 So is Butyrac a commercial name for 2-4-D?
ParrotHead2005
Re: butyrac 200 24-DB. It must have the B correct dogdoc. I believe I got that from you. Dogdoc, can you get it in any smaller amounts than a gallon anywhere?
dogdoc
Re: butyrac 200 correct--2,4DB I'm pretty sure that Whitetail Institute makes a smaller bottle of 2,4DB and you can pick it up at Cabelas or bass pro--it ends up costing a lot more per ounce but if you are just spraying a small area it's probably worth it. ParrotHead2005
Re: butyrac 200 Dogdoc and tell you more but the 2-4 D will kill the clover and alfalfa the stuff with the B will not.
