Jeramie
Did Anyone know that Austin Texas was a LONG way from Locust Grove Oklahoma? Also you drive into a head wind each way..... We left Monday at roughly 1:00. We finally pulled into Cedar Park Texas at 10:15 and went to best western. Sleep..... Oh splendid Sleep. Roughly 500miles. We got up yesterday and get to the Marina at roughly 9:00a.m. We had a look at the boat and my wife noticed some cracks in the seat. The seats were suppose to be 100% minus one hole from a little girls finger and a few small wear cracks in the captains chair. We immediately brought that to the guys attention. I told him I wasn't driving 500 miles to be disappointed. I dug out several print offs from boats that were very near by. We took off leaving him standing there with his mouth open. The seats were suppose to be "in 100% perfect condition." We ran to another little town 30 miles west of Laga Vista and looked at other pontoons. They were much rougher for the same price but he didn't need to know that... I called him back and told him about the other boats I was looking at. I then told him that I wasn't going to drive 500 miles and pay full price for something that was falsely advertised. He apologized and explained that he looked at boats every day. A few cracks in the seat were typically overlooked and he didn't mean to lead me astray... "Knock another $500 off and ill come get it, otherwise I'm buying one of these I'm standing on." He called back 3-minutes later and said fine... We get back and he is gone. He finally pulls in with a new gas grill that mounts on the front of the boat! The owner had forgotten about it and wanted him to pick it up and take it to us! It literally has NEVER been used! Anyway, we start the boat, everything runs great. Everything works, very well taken care of etc. The only problem, the bank draft is for $6500, I'm giving him $6000. They wont take a personal check because I'm leaving the state and I understand completely. Finally my bank says $15 for a wire transfer. A couple of hours and a great Mexican food lunch later we are headed back NE. We left at 2:00p.m. I wanted to leave no later than 10:00! A cold front is coming in so we hit a strong north wind and thunderstorms just north of Dallas. My truck usually runs at 2k RPM at 70mph (5.4l Triton). We had to push it with the boat behind us, it ran at 3K the entire way... At 72MPH we pulled in the driveway at 11:20 last night and were back up for work at 4:30. Im one tired puppy... But the boat is home and at $500 less than I thought I would spend!

Jeramie
Re: Yawn..... Im back... Oh yeah, on the way down we spent about $75. Not to bad. Pulling a Pontoon, into a STRONG north wind, at 72mph we spent closer to $125 on the way back! Regardless, the $500 payed for the food, gas, hotel, etc! Rhino
Re: Yawn..... Im back... Oh boy...new gas grill too now? Definately a party boat. With the $500 you saved you can buy and install one heck of a nice boom box now to play some mood music while you're grilling fish on the deck. JK Congrats and enjoy the new boat Jeramie.
