Hey everybody... I am VP of our student chapter of The Wildlife Society here at K-State and every year we try to hold different fundraisers to help us out throughout the year. For example this year we had a calendar sale, t-shirts, and a book sale. The book sale is just a bunch of old books that professors have donated to us over the years and we hardly make anything off of it. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on what we could do. Remember this for a university club so I think car washes and stuff like that would be out of the question. grin.gif

Thanks,

Jason

Shotgun Raffle! They make money around here anyway.

Also people sometimes do a car spash around here. Go to a salvage or get an OLD car donated. Put it in a parking lot and supply a sledge hammer, baseball bat, pipe, etc. $5 for 5-licks. You would be surprised how many people show up to hammer on the car.

Also, if the car is donated you can then haul it to the salvage and pick up a check for scrap!

Andrea... I forgot to mention at the end of the spring semester we hold a banquet and raffle off a bunch of items that businesses have donated. But most of that goes right back into paying for food and the building that our banquet is held in.

I would love to try a shotgun raffle... but we have to acquire the gun first. DU does these a lot but all of thier stuff is donated by DU's father chapter.

around here auctions work good, dinners work good, and havin a bunch of local restaurants donate a discount service, and sell what we call "gold cards" where all of the restaurants are listed on the card along with the discount they offer, like buy one get one free, and the purchaser can go to the restaurant as many times as they want and receice the discount. We make a lot of money doing those.

Just an idea.
