CTBowMan
I live in the country, and recently bought a .50 cal T/C Omega. I have 2.5 acres that borders State forest, and want to make my own shooting range to practice. You guys got any ideas for a good quality backstop for the .50 cal sabots? I was thinking of getting some sand bags, but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks in advance.
AJ
Re: making a shooting range @ home The last shooting backstop I made consisted of railroad ties stacked 4 feet high. A big mound of dirt was placed on the back side of the ties tapering back about 6 or 8 feet. Use some 1" construction foam on the impact side and it gives you something to tack your targets too. wtnhunt
Re: making a shooting range @ home A large mound of dirt would work well. We shoot in the back yard here. Really is pretty ideal, there is a pretty good hill that runs up behind our targets, that is a natural backstop of sorts.
