MrWiggely
I applied for and interviewed for what I consider my dream job a couple weeks ago. After the interview, the interviewers told me I nailed it, and I felt like I did too. Of course you have to wait a week or two so they can contact my references. Friday I got a letter from them thanking me for interviewing but they are wont cosider me for the position. Now I have no Idea why, I more than met the educational requirements, I had 3 years experience allong with 3 more years of supervisory experience in the exact same job for a different company. So I called up the head of human resourses and asked her why Im not being cosidered for the position and she tells me it is because I am a nurse. A NURSE! And that they figure I would leave at the first job offer that was better than this one. This is nuts! If ever I felt like going postal, this is it. Turkeygirl
Re: How would your feel? Wow...sorry Wigs! Go figure....maybe it's good you didn't get the job because maybe working for them wouldn't be too great... Kinda like when I applied for a job my freshman year at college, I have the interview, then a few weeks later I get a letter in the mail saying I'm "not qualified enough" which is baloney because the job involved some custodial work, and various other tasks over the summer on campus when they had alot of groups in. Now I'm a sub custodial supervisor at the college while I wait for a better job. The lady who didn't hire me freshman year...I bet she feels like a jerk with my walking around working for the custodial department. Hang in there...I'm sure God has other plans for you. It'll all work out.
buckee
Re: How would your feel? It's what they call, being over qualified. It doesn't make sense to the working man, but it seems to make sense to the employers

Turkeygirl
Re: How would your feel? One of my rec. professors told me about one time he applied for a job at ike a national park...they told him he was overqualified for the job....I guess because of his degree and he had all this training and certifications and what not. Geesh...I'd rather have an overqualified person working with my kid then an underqualified one, lol.
Nut
Re: How would your feel? Wigs, I have been there more than once. Basically it came down to someone with almost similar qualifications but willing tp work for less $$$. I also have lost jobs because I was more experienced than those doing the hiring.... [/ QUOTE ] This is what I was thinking, one of the people doing the hiring used to work for me. Maybe she didn't want to be looking over her back. But then again, why say it is because Im a nurse. Just makes no sense. What a pain in the neck. It would have been nice to be able to walk accross the road to go to work, rather than drive 50 miles one way. Guest callman
Wigs, Probably the same way I felt when you order some turkey calls from me and NEVER paid me. Least you did get a answer from them. Way more than I have gotten from you after several attempts to contact you. I hope it gets better for you
