Dukey
Well I posted on Friday that I had found were the big boys were roosting and hanging out, and was going in to get one on Sat. I got in there well before sunup and set up my blind and decoys. They were gobbling like crazy just before sun up and I was giving some light calls hoping to coax them in right off the roost. once the sun got up a little more I realized that there was about 25-30 birds in the trees. A lot more than I originally thought. Once they all flew down I counted about around 17 strutting jakes and toms. I called and called and then tried not calling for awhile, nothing seemed to work. they just stayed about 75-100 yards out. They were talking a little, but a lot of the toms were chasing jakes around. So I don't know if I did something wrong or they just hung up on me, but they weren't at all interested in me. Oh well, it was still awesome to see and beats sitting in class or at work any day.
