Guest realtrhunter
Has anyone heard about these new rounds, .204? I was at an outdoor shop the other day and was talking to a guy there about them. They are suppose to have a muzzle velocity of over 4000 fps. Have a polymer tip. I think it was Hornady that is making them.
toddyboman
Re: .204 rounds yup that correct. You can do a search in this room and the guns and accessories room and get tons of info on them that we have posted.

sureshot
Re: .204 rounds supposed to be less damage than the 22-250 with the right bullet!I have heard great things about the berger bullets in the .204,I am still a believer in the .223 for varmets if collecting hides, cheap bullets and a good gun out to 300 easy, plus hardly no damge compared to the .204 and 22-250, when calling 80% is well within 300 yards and sure I miss the odd one at 400 plus couse I do not shoot usually but I make the money up in not damged hides easilly! tped
Re: .204 rounds I saw first hand what this cartridge did to coyotes back in November so bought one myself. CZ527 Varmint. Shoots about 1/2 to 5/8" groups. Light recoil. Love the gun and caliber. Took it back to Texas in March - only killed 1 bobcat using the 40 grain berger load from HSM - no pelt damage at all -only about an 80 yard shot. Did shoot a couple jackrabbits at about 150 yards that were just smoked. I wouldn't give up the good old 22-250 but a 204 is a terrific addition. huntinguide
Re: .204 rounds i have one and love it it will shoot flatter than anything i have 223, 22-250, 243 but it doesnt deliever down range like the 22's. Awesome down range distruction, with a v-max and 4000 it will blow anything up.

tped
I have seen the Hornady ammo in the $14-$17 range. I actually shoot factory HSM ammo that I buy at Cabelas in a 50 round box for $
