coles
yesterday on my drive back to school i spotted these 3 spikes and i was surprised to see they still had their antlers. the pics are a little blurry cuz i had to take them through my binos to get a close enough pic to see they had spikes. Randy
Re: ****EASTER ELK PICS!!!**** Boy, who'd a thought they'd still have antlers this time of year? It would be interesting to know why some animals lose them real early and others 3-4 months later are still carrying them around.
coles
Re: ****EASTER ELK PICS!!!**** i have heard that the spikes take longer to shed theirs but still. i never thought it would take this long.

[/ QUOTE ] Cole - the spikes and 2 1/2 year olds generally pack antlers until the third week in April or later. There are a couple groups of young bulls I watch every year and it's worthless to look for their sheds until the end of the month.
