SuperMn106
My brother stopped by our neighibors house today and our neighibor showed him this shed that he found this year. My brother and I believe it is the same deer that we found a shed to last year. What do you guys think? In this pic before the G3 on the big one you can see a "lump" in the antler and in the bottom one the lump is there too, you can definitly feel it. Just a show for some mass, We are pretty sure that the little one from last year is when he was a year and half and the bigger one from this year is when he was 2 and half. That is some pretty good growth for a year. He will be 3 and half this year and should be nice. Here is a pic of the deer that we think it is, The one on the right in this pic. deershed
Re: From the same deer? (pics) Dial up Beware!! I don't know, that's alot of growth for one year. The base on that bigger shed is more then double the size of the first shed.
coles
Re: From the same deer? (pics) Dial up Beware!! look at all the feed they had though. i think it is likely. but unless you did DNA samples you'll never know.

The farmer doesnt usually take the corn off untill middle january. The neighibor who found it and Us as well planted a lot of flood plots the last couple of years too. No telling though, but the characteristics look the same.
toddyboman
Re: From the same deer? (pics) Dial up Beware!! Characteristics are the same so maybe its part of the genetic you have. Maybe an offspring. BUt I think thats a lot of growth in one year. But hard to tell. Either way he should be a good buck this year.
deershed
Re: From the same deer? (pics) Dial up Beware!! If you look at the pedicle too one's flat the other slanted. It really shows in the first pic.The mulitple sheds I have off the same deer they stay consistent from year to year. Also the brow tine is off center on the smaller shed. I think same genrtics different deer. btw-that bigger shed is an Awesome shed!! huntermq32
Re: From the same deer? (pics) Dial up Beware!! I have sheds from deer year after year and they never dubble in size like that. I also have alot of good food sources but it could happen I guess. As for as same deer or not the ridge around the peddical is like a finger print and if that is the same as the other than thats him. I beieve that you have a 1.5 and a 3.5 antler there.
125py
Re: From the same deer? (pics) Dial up Beware!! it is also hard to match a 1.5 yr old with an older antler...its easier to tell if its the same buck if one shed is 2.5 yrs old and the other is older in my opinion
Turkeygirl
Re: From the same deer? (pics) Dial up Beware!! I'm leaning towards it's not the same shed.....seems just like waaayyy too much mass to put on in one year. Great sheds though!
Tom2008
Re: From the same deer? (pics) Dial up Beware!! I'm also thinking it is not the same shed. They have a few very noticable differences that everyone has stated already. They do look like they have the same genetics though.
wvshedhunter
Re: From the same deer? (pics) Dial up Beware!! i am with the ones that think that the genetics are the same, not sure about the same deer though, but that doesnt matter great sheds!! Guest shedman6o
Re: From the same deer? (pics) Dial up Beware!! Those sheds could certainly be from the same animal. They are deffinetly from the same gene pool. The littler one has the same curve where the bigger ones G3 is.As far as the bigger sheds base being bent farther back that could be from the weight of the antler or it could be from how the buck layed its head when it slept. One of the great things about shed hunting is the mystery surrounding each antler.I like to think antlers are gods personal art work.No 2 are exactly alike but some come pretty daggon close.
