Turkeygirl
My hopes of turkey scouting this weekend and/or shed hunting is going down the drain. Weather forcasted to be nice on Friday and ok this weekend....now we have a front coming in and suppose to get 4" of snow tonight and be rainy and yucky rest of the week, with temps. no higher than 40/45 degrees if that. Should I still try scouting some state land this weekend or wait it out? Next weekend is the youth weekend, not sure how turkeys will be after that.....then it's just 2 weeks from this coming Tuesday till the opener. I feel like i'm running out of time! QDMAworks4me
Re: This is depressing... You have to remember it is only the first part of april, I remember many years in NY where we had lots more snow than this on the ground. You will make things happen I am sure, good luck getting out this weekend.
Guest bowhunter56
Re: This is depressing... well ruth, i would sooner see some nice weather in a few weeks, than now, too nice, to early, they start breeding, and then it's harder later, just my opinion. the turkey will be there, they don't go any where, just gotta get out as often as you can, and find them,
Randy
Re: This is depressing... Were supposed to get 6-10 inches today and tonight. The birds aren't going anywhere they just won't be as vocal. You might be able to see their tracks easier to see where they are stutting. Good luck! JimPic
Re: This is depressing... I don't even scout anymore. My cabin is about a 3hr drive and it seems every year, the birds are always in the same area anyway.
wtnhunt
Re: This is depressing... Good luck Ruth, would scout as best as you can. Season has been open here for a couple weeks now, the weather has sure not been good for turkey hunting for me. Temps have been anywhere from in the low 90's the first few days back down to in the 20's just the other day, been a lot of wind too. Looks like things here might get to normal this weekend. Shaun_300
Re: This is depressing... Sure doesn't feel like spring up here yet either, only about 37 degrees here right now, supposed to get some wet snow tomorrow mixed with rain.
