Re: ever have weird dreams?

One time I was out of town on business staying in a hotel. I woke up (sat up) in the middle of the night from a dream that my dog yelped and was hurt. It woke me up and I wondered what the heck. When I got home the w/e, I found out my dog caught her nose in a fence and when she pulled back, she caught meat and cut herself. Maybe thats why she's closest to me?

I think we've all had our share of those types of dreams. grin.gif

I've had a few dreams, that I can say were supernatural in nature, much like dg's.

I was logging at the time, in British Columbia, and was around 26 years old. I stayed in camp all week and home on weekends, with little contact with the outside world accept a phone-call to my wife, every other night.

I hadn't seen my grandparents, since I was around 14 years old (they lived in Gaspe', Quebec, on the east coast. I also hadn't talked with my Mom for a long, long time by phone (she lived in London,Ontario.

I was sleeping in my bunkhouse bed. Just before I woke up one morning, I had a dream about my grandparents. It was short and sweet. They were both standing on an old farmhouse porch, smiling, like Ma and Pa Kettle. First my Grandma lifted her arm and waved to me smiling. She put down her arm and then Grandpa lifted his arm and waved.

That's it, that's all there was to the dream, and I woke up.

The dream bothered me all day, because I knew, somehow, that it meant something.

I phoned my wife that evening, and started to tell her my dream. As soon as I got to the part about Grandma waving, she said that my Mom had called, and my Grandma had died. I thought that was pretty dang weird, and that was way before I came to know Jesus as my saviour.

We both(my wife and I) thought it was pretty strange to come up with a dream like that out of thin air. I never had a dream about my grandparents before this.

The stranger part to this story, is that 8 months later, Grandpa passed away. I think it was because he missed Grandma so very much, which explained her waving first, and then him second.

It was my first supernatural type dream, with a meaning to it, and I've never forgotten it.

I can't stand dreams when I am trying to run but can't, or in my dreams I am trying to open my eyes but can't, or my teeth are falling out or I can't find my kids. crazy.gif

And it never fails........I'll be having a really GOOD dream and the alarm clock goes off. mad.gifsmirk.gif

Re: ever have weird dreams?

Years ago I started Bar tending. My first night working was a Friday night and it was really busy. One of the frequent patrons name was Ed. Ed always wanted a mug of beer.

I got home from closing down the bar that night about 3 am and went to bed. An hour later I woke up, went to the refrigerator, realized where I was, and went back to bed. A couple hours later I did the same thing again!! I woke up the next morning and my wife asked me what I was doing and I said "I was getting Ed a beer!!" blush.gifgrin.gifgrin.gif

Re: ever have weird dreams?

LOL. Yep, have some pretty weird ones too, but like Chris says, I am not going to post them out in the open here.

One thing I will say though is that the dreams always are at there best right before I wake up, and never can seem to get back to the same dreams frown.giftongue.gif

What about that one dream where your students said they thought you looked like Garth Brooks? You know what that means when you dream something like that? Two words - Man Crush.

I once had a dream of shooting a big ten pointer and it ran, but it didn't go down. I knew that I hit it like right in the heart, but it wouldn't go down. Instead, it ran towards me, up the tree to my tree stand, and started punching me! ooo.gif Then, I woke... smirk.gifgrin.gif It was REALLY wierd, but I was happy about the ten point! tongue.gif

What are you talking about, Garth lover??? grin.giftongue.gif

To answer the question at hand, ever since I was a little kid I've dreamt weird. Sometimes I down right freak out my wife. She said once in the middle of the night I yelled something and grabbed her face, you know, like palming a basketball. grin.gif She had a few choice words for me the next day.... tongue.gif

I've also sworn up and down that there were birds flying around in our room, another time there were snakes under my pillow, and in high school I jumped up on the bed and tackled a curtain that covered a closet. grin.gifcrazy.gif Weird, huh? grin.gif

Re: ever have weird dreams?

One "dream" that hacked me off happened after a night of hauling square bales from around 1:30-4:00AM or so.

I was driving my neighbor's JD 6400 with a 10-bale small square grapple hook with a bale trailer. After I went to bed I kept dreaming, and I was probably actually acting this all out with my arms, but I'd pull up to the trailer with a full pack ready to stack it on top. I had done this...30-40 times that night probably. Standard procedure...pull up, pull back and push right on the joystick, line up the pack/stack, pull transmission selector in reverse, clutch, brake, hit switch on top of joystick releasing bales, let off clutch, and repeat. Once I was in bed, however, the transmission in the 6400s that lets you switch to reverse at road speed, the brakes, and the clutch decided not to work. So, there I was "in" the tractor not being able to stop. Just before the tractor rammed the trailer I woke up...about every 5 minutes. Just as I woke up my left leg was thrusting down (pressing clutch), my right leg was pushing (the brake) and my right arm was yanking back on the forward/reverse selector and the throttle. That, my friends, is one of the worst dreams I've ever had.
