NiteRunner
Okay, We've got a big field behind out house and also a small chunk of woods and behind that is a swamp where the deer like to disappear in to. Just inside the woods along one field edge there's a strip (5 yards wide X 100-150 yards long) and a good healthy crop of weeds grow every year there. Size wise do you think this could work for a food plot or just a little to small? Thanks!
Randy
Re: Would this Work? Without a doubt it'll work. We plant all our borders in clover. Anywhere you can plant some groceries will help.
wtnhunt
Re: Would this Work? Yep, would work just fine. Long narrow strip plots, make great hunting plots.
dogdoc
Re: Would this Work? my favorite plots are the long narrow strips. The deer feel very secure in these types of plots. good luck todd
Tominator
Re: Would this Work? 5 yards wide? Yep, my plots are aboot that wide, and the deer love my beans and corn.

SoybeanMan
Re: Would this Work? This is the way we did it when I hunted in South Arkansas. I had an old drag type cultivator and ran up and down the old logging roads. I then broadcast wheat and ran back over it. They tend to step into the road and walk down it before moving on. BuckNrut
Anyplace that supports weeds would have enhough sunlight to suppor food plots. With maximized soil conditions and the right planting, you should have success.
