coles
well just like some people said when i posted about my new exhaust. well someone complained. but thats not the problem. the cop gave me a careless driving ticket for doing a wheelie in my yard!!!!yeah, in my yard!! i am ticked. so i have to go talk to the judge tomorrow and see if he will throw it out. but i just dont see his reasons for givin me a ticket for bein in my yard. Born2Hunt
Re: it finally happened..... Thats a load of crap! I sure am glad that the fuzz don't come around my house. I would be able to wall paper my house with tickets like that. Sometimes you just got to let your hair down and have fun thats why I bought a Raptor. BowtechTurkeyHunter
Re: it finally happened..... axtually in Iowa that is the law ... in your yard or on the street in a ditch you have to obey all the laws the same ... anything could of happened ... you could have lost control of it and it could have went into the street and killed someone ... Im not saying that it would have or remotely would have but that is simply why the laws are there ... it is to protect ppl from crazy things like that happening ... example would be if I were driving a snow mobile in the ditch along a highway ... I have to drive it the speed limit of the highway ... or I can and would get a ticket ... its seems unjust but truthfully I have to agree with the cop ... sorry man Steve
Tominator
Re: it finally happened..... My prediction on this thread. Not much sympathy from the adults. Tons of sympathy from the younger crowd. I'm afraid I'd have to go along with the Police officer on this one. I know I would not appreciate a youngster doing wheelies and showing off a new exhaust in my neighborhood. Then again, I'm an old fart, and I like peace and quiet. [/ QUOTE ]I'm 32 but still love to ride like that. I think I am much safer riding like that in my yard than in the road but hey, the law is the law I guess. Here in N.Y. you can get a DWI riding almost anything on your property even a lawnmower. The law is the law weather we agree or not.

IowaDeerHunter
Re: it finally happened..... Yeah that sucks, but if it is the law it is the law. At least it was only a careless driving, not that AND a disturbing the peace ticket.

wtnhunt
Re: it finally happened..... Hmmm, was there reason for him watching you in the first place? Might not be too wise to draw attention to yourself. He may just get you for something else in the future. Far as getting ticketed on your own land, dont see how you could get a traffic citation in your yard, but then states vary.

JDAWG
Re: it finally happened..... I had a warden threaten me while I was on my families land in Maine. He saw me riding my 4-wheeler and came onto our property and threatened to give me a ticket. I wasn't on the road, going crazy...just riding and scouting for sign. That, in my opinion, is an invasion of my privacy. Some cops and wardens think they make the rules unfortunately
