slughunter
Opening morning of turkey season was last wed. I decided that I was going to be the good grandson and call for my grandpa. So we get the the spot plenty early and set up the decoys in the feild. At first light we heard 3 gobblers about 600 yards away. My grandpa suggested we move closer but I told him we should stay put and I will call them in. To be honest the main reason I said that was because I didnt want to move, I was settled in and comfortable (lazy as well). so I call after about 15 minutes, and the 3 toms just went crazy, gobbleing every time I touched the call. Soon enough I could tell they were getting closer. After about 30 minutes of playing with them, one of the gobblers came out of the thick pine tree woods and was in full strut. I played with him for a wile and he came into 30 yards and my grandpa layed the smack down on him. He isnt a giant, and wasnt the biggerst in the group but it was awsome to call them guys in. He had a 9 1/4 inch beard, 1 inch spurs, and was about 22 pound. I never realized I could call like that. -shane

WIwhitetailhunter
Congrats to your grandpa on the bird and to you on the calling! You can even add another plus to your calling technique given that you had the weather to deal with. I'm assuming you had the wind and snow that morning. Great job! Did you get it on video??
