arrow32
I hate that store. They are selling 50 pound bags of whole corn for 7 bucks a piece now use to be I could get it there cheaper. Maybe I've just never noticed prices or anything but dang it went up 1.50. I can go over to Danny's and buy a 100 pound bag for 9.50. How stupid. Dang places make me mad maybe I'm just to easy to get frusterated? Have noticeid the prices on everything are going up tho anyway must be gas prices. Still makes me madder than heck tho. TreeWalker
No....the big push on Ethanol production is what is driving corn prices up.....you are gonna really notice it at the grocery store this year, as well as the feed store..... wtnhunt
Corn prices around here at the coop and feed stores is up Cody. That said, I am not a fan of TSC. They do overprice quite a bit of what they have in their store here.

Think Cody puts corn in feeders for deer where he has a camera, like many other people do.
dogdoc
Clay is correct--corn prices are going to go up do to the ethenol production--also going up is the price of fertilizer--lots of farmers are planting more corn due to the increase in the corn prices and corn requires lots of nitrogen--I'm paying more for fertilizer for the food plots. Plant some food plots and give up the corn feeders---feed more deer and less raccoons.

Yep, just found out that it is in fact up here considerably. $7.33 a 50lb bag at coop, and the same 6-12-12 fertilizer from coop that ran me around $5.50 a bag last year was up to $8 a bag:eek:
Turkeygirl
Yeah, at the mill where we get our animal feed, prices have gone up on everything. It's the economy - gas prices have gone up... and wheat and corn prices have soared they anything made with that costs more. Everything costs more, even at Walmart!!!:-(
stevebeilgard
and corn will get higher. here's a real problem for the greenies who want us to burn ethenal... the average wage in mexico is $3.00 per day. you read that right. corn tortillas, the staple of their diet, used to cost $.75 per day. it's now up to over $4.00 per day. that means that by us using ethanal, we are starving mexicans. no wonder the world hates us... lol

DIng Ding Ding your the winner!! Suppose to be putting in an ethnol plant here in our little town. So my guess is EVERY farmer in the community will be planting corn. But Hunter think you just have to stop putting corn out 2 weeks prior to season then after season you can put it back out. I say lets stop with the ethonel stuff.lol
