Guest Andrea
Just watched a few minutes of a documentary about this and had to turn it. How nauseating. I think these things should be banned for kids under 12. Maybe even older. Why can't they hold pageants that don't require thousand dollar dresses and more make-up than Tammy Faye??? With all the perverts in the world today.....why would you want your little 5 yr old girl prancing around in a BATHING SUIT??? Some of the dance moves were nothing short of something you'd see down at the local strip joint! Sorry, this just gets under my skin. muggs
I'm under the opinion that those mothers should be locked up. It's obvious that they're making their daughters go through all that for their own personal reasons. I don't know if we saw the same show, but I've seen documentaries about those pageants and the one lady kept her little girl up to 4am, practicing the night before the pageant and then got her out of bed at 7am to prepare. Pretty sad.
Guest Andrea
There's one documentary on HBO, but the current one on tv is on VH1. It's all the same. Obessed Moms, reluctant kids, or obsessed kids.
Texan_Til_I_Die
Yep, I always get a creepy feeling about the parents that would do things like that to their kids.
NS whitetail
yup, pretty sad but ya know, it happens in other aspects of life as well, take sports for instance. Some people drive their kids to no ends, hoping they will be the next Gretzky, Tiger Woods or any other sports superstar. Pretty sad, let the kids grow up and have fun. coles
seems to me like a good way to ruin a little girls self esteem. i mean pre teen and teenage girls already have a though enough time and i dont htink they need to hear that they werent pretty enough to win 1st place. M00N
I agree with you Andrea child beauty pageants disgust me. Little girls shouldn't be put through such high stress at such an early age by their parents. They'll get enough stress in life once they turn teenagers and into adults. There was a girl I knew growing up, who from the day she could walk her mother put her into those things. All I can say was before she even was a pre-teen she had depression problems already from the stress placed on her by her parents. It's just not right to put that kind of stress on a little kid. It's really horrible if you ask me.
wtnhunt
Most of them involve a lot of politics with the parents too Andrea. More about who the kids parents know, than how beautiful or talented the kid actually is.
