wtnhunt
Will be planting whatever she gets with this program, supposed to be an annual mix of peas and grains, in this spot. Have run similar annuals here with good results the past couple years now. Anyhoo, will post progress as we go. Before we started. A shot after running the disc through a few times. Will spray roundup and disc again at least once more before planting.

wtnhunt
Seed came in yesterday from the twra, looks like it will be a good mix. Some of the stuff in this mix, I have not planted before, will be interesting. The mix is 5 lbs of: 20 % millets(german foxtail and white proso) 15 % buckwheat 20 % soybeans(laredo and quail haven) 15 % cowpeas 10 % milo 15 % kobe lespedeza 5 % partridge peas Will lime this weekend according to the soil sample, shooting to plant in about a month, so hopefully the pelletized lime will be in the ground long enoughh to make some difference. Will get some more pics of the progress and post them here as we go along. Will be interesting to see how the re-seeding annuals(quail haven soybeans, kobe lespedeza, and partridge peas) perform year after year in this spot. wtnhunt
updated progress Think at this point we are planning to plant my daughters plot the weekend after next, possbily earlier depending on the weather. Sprayed glyphosate again earlier this week. Widened up the plot just a bit in the middle and disced again yesterday and also spread lime, will go back and disc it in this morning. Can see the box blind where Christina killed her first deer from straight back in the middle of this second pic. Was lablab plus here in this plot that year and her buck along with 3 or 4 other bucks came from the woods below this plot.

wtnhunt
update on the progress-new pics added We planted this morning, sure hope we get the rain mid week we are supposed to. Ground was dry as a bone, and the clumps of dirt were about as hard as bricks, took a lot longer to drag off and firm up the soil then I had planned. Would have liked a fined seedbed, but guess this will have to do. Here are a few shots of my daughter pulling the drag. Spreading the seed, dont think 5 lbs of the supplied mix was enough for this plot, they said it would cover up to 1/4 acre, think I figured this plot 1/6th of an acre total area. Anyways, we ran out of seed before we made all the passes we wanted to. Unfortunately coverage may be a bit thin in some spots.
