ksbowhntr77
I just bought an Undertaker 12GA choke last night, just curious of everyone's thoughts on them. Good, bad, indifferent? Let me know, did I waste my money?
Bowtech_archer07
I love mine. I have shot one bird, and I know someone who shot another and the bird did not move after we shot. They were both about 30 yard shots. I don't think you wasted your money at all. Good luck!!
Rayzorp
I borrowed an Undertaker choke from a friend one time. Got a slightly better pattern then when I used my remington choke. Not as loud.
Guest cornbreadjunky
hmmm the undertaker was my first aftermarket choke--- sucked! i bought a comp-n-choke the second time around and can shoot consistant 50 pellet groups inside a 18 inch circle at 70 yards. work with shot size and different brands, winchester xx in a size 5 work best for me even over the high end stuff. good luck! Money well spent, ofcourse if you got it for $5 like that other guy then it would be money even BETTER spent
elnor
I had great enough performance with an Undertaker H.S. on my Remington 11-87 last year that I bought another Undertaker H.S. for my Mossberg 835 this year. Brilliant with Winchester Extended Range 3 inch #5s in both guns.
LifeNRA
Doesnt matter which choke you buy, you have to pattern it to see what you can do with your gun! Every gun is different, even two guns of the same make and model. Since you have the choke, shoot as many shells that you can. Buy some loads from friends or family and test it out. You need to find which shell will shoot the best from it. If you dont like any of the results, get another choke and start all over again! I shot four different chokes until I found one that I like! Good luck!
Strut10
I've found the Undertaker to be somewhere between ho-hum and decent. There seems to be a good deal of difference between "identical" Undertaker tubes. One will not shoot worth a hoot and the next will do O.K. Turkeygirl
I think it is a good choke for the money. Have one on my Mossberg and while i haven't gotten a turkey with it yet, patterns decent.
Outdoorzman
The Undertaker is a pretty good choke tube in my Ulti-Mag. I pattern with a lot of shells each season and use 2 different models, (one for a hevi-shot load). There's no comparison when testing it against any factory choke tube, including the newer Xtra full hokes. It patterns great out to 45 yards which is my limit. Of course, you should try several different loads as all pattern differently. Example: a 3.5" Remington or Winchester, (even in hevi-shot loads and #6), patterns way worse than when I shoot Winchester 3" #5's! Go figure but that's what my gun likes. However...if I miss the first shot and need a 2nd...my back-up shell is a Remington 3.5" hevi shot. It patterns like crap at 30 yards compared to the 3" but patterns better at the 40-45 yd mark.
