I snuck in to within 100 yards of the roost at dark early and set up the decoys with 2 more hens on swivels. As it started getting light I could see the birds roosted up in the large oaks. As it got light enough for them to see tha floor I noticed 2 birds turned around and appeared to be looking at "Pretty Boy". Sure enough, 3 birds total sailed out of the roost and made a beeline towards my setup. My toughest decision was wgich of the three to shoot as they chased each other around for 30 seconds before they stopped and looked at the spread. Ka Boom and one dead bird. 19.5 Lbs, 1 inch spurs, and a 9 inch beard. And another successful spring. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
