Dakota Update from Omaha

Hey guys just wanted to let you all know that I just got off the phone with Dakota and Chuck ...

Dakota is doing ok now. Last night he was rushed to the hospital as you all know ... what happened was one of the leads off of his pacemaker actually broke ... he said it felt like his chest was doing flips inside ... come to find out the doctors said that the lead was actually touching his diaphram making him have those fealing ... his heart was actually stopping for up to 4 seconds because of this ... well they got him to the hospital and ran some test and at 5 am this morning he had a temporary pacemaker put in to get him through till they got him on the flight to Omaha to get his original one fixed ... Once he got to Omaha via a plane ride ... they got him into surgery and repaired the broken lead and actually moved the pacemaker up higher in his chest cavity, where the doctors think it will be more stable and not roll around as much is my understanding ...

Dakota is very tired and very sore he has had a very rough 24 hours ... coincidentally the pacemaker that failed was put in exactly one year ago today ... Please pray for Dakota the next couple of days as they will running test on him and I am very sure he will feel the effects of the tests ... also please pray for Chuck and Jennifer as this is a very trying time for them ... they have been through a lot the last 24 hours ... neither of them has had any sleep ...

The good news is that Dakota is doing fine and should be released in the next couple of days ...

This is all I know at the moment, I will call them back tomorrow for another update and will post in here with what I find ... My wife and I are going to wait and see how things go and how the Cases' hold up before making a trip over there ... I will know more tomorrow ...

Hi all, Dakota's Dad here. Want to thank Steve Beilgard and Steve Douglass (Bowtech) for keeping you all up to date with Dakota's situation. What Steve said at the top of this thread is pretty much the current status. Our family thanks each and everyone of you for your continued prayers! Dakota is in some pain, but is doing well over all. We'll see if we can get him on here in the next day or two!

Thanks again!

Chuck

Hey guys,

Whoa! Talk about a little dejavu huh? Just got released and am at the Rainbow House in Omaha, waiting for my parents to load everything in the van. Man, what a rough week! Broke my toe last Tues. and ended up in the hospital for surgery this Tuesday! After a quick stop at the local Bass Pros we're gonna go back home to SD. I am really sore and am in a lot of pain, but hey, I'm tough and I'll get over it. My family and I just want to thank everyone for your prayers and thoughts. You guys mean the world to us. Thanks!

Dakota :)
